In Parallel Universe And What We Head by Anurak Tanyapalit This project is an interesting work to create an experimental process through data collection to work with local people about different perspectives and ways of thinking of local people towards the centralized state-determined system of thinking, which is a continuation of the AbolishTheCapital project, which attempts to address the problem of the centralized state absorbing local resources from the general development in the capital too much and attempting to assimilate in terms of culture and spirit (Internal Colonial), which leads to various problems such as the inequality of young people migrating to find work and education opportunities in Bangkok, being devalued because they were born in the provinces, etc. The working process will be the creation of a process of assuming a parallel world or alternative universe (Parallel Universe), in which there will be a process of allowing local people to make decisions in the local area, to be able to extract resources by using different places to represent various factors, such as development, administrative power, decision-making, symbolic places, etc., by using the process of editing images from one point to another, such as moving the Ministry of Education from Bangkok to Khon Kaen
The production process will be done in collaboration with participants in the Workshop project to help design the exhibition, its title, and its installation. The work itself will be the starting point for creating a conversation and a collaborative process through the creation of the work using Google Maps and Photoshop, with the theme imagining a parallel universe where we can design and bring various places in the capital back to the local area.
