Miracle Statue By Pichit Sornkom Nang Kwak is a statue that we Thais are familiar with. The idea of โโNang Kwak Thai can miraculously beckon money, gold, and various things that people desire. “Nang Kwak can beckon prosperity to people.” โNang Kwak Thai can kwak Is it possible to be human?โ “Humanity Is it as valuable as money or something?โ “Humanity Will it make human life prosperous?โ If humanity were to arise, increase, and increase, what would be the positive effects on this world? The artist tried to find the answer and the possibility of this concept to use in creating art works and experimented to create a statue of Nang Kwak, which included statues of women and men of various races, including experimenting to create only the shape of hands and arms waving attached to the shape of a heart symbol. When it was reduced to only the shape of hands and hearts, the artistic content that the artist wanted could be seen as a picture that “the waving hand is a human hand, waving to look at the human heart.” This is the origin of the concept of the art exhibition “Miracle Statue”
How important or lacking is humanity? That it must call for Nang Kwak to come help… This is the open-ended question that the artist is trying to present to the audience.
