Period 12 March – 23 April 2022

Mystic Border Exhibition: The Hidden Border by Ugrid Jomyim Photo and video documentary series on the mysterious boundary. The photographer hopes to convey the story of the Dara-ang tribe in the Ban Norlae community of Fang District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand is located on the border between Thailand and Myanmar for over 30 years. Most of the people in the area immigrated from Doi Lai in Shan State, Myanmar. Due to the threat of war between ethnic minorities and the military government of Myanmar, this was a cloud that covered all areas of Myanmar at that time. According to the community leader who brought the Dara-ang people to migrate at that time, when they first settled in the area, they were just laborers on the farms and gardens. This was partly because at that time they were stateless people, without the rights of citizenship of the Thai state, without land, without education, and with the status of residents. Although today, almost all of them in the community have received personal status from the Thai state, there are still other problems that come to encroach on their rights and equality, especially modern capital that comes to deal with them at close range.
